Volunteer at OGBES
Oak Grove-Bellemeade Elementary is grateful for, and proud to have many businesses, groups, and organizations which share their time, talents, and resources to enhance your child's educational experiences. Directly, they act as mentors, tutors, and additional resources in the classroom. They offer their place of business as field trip opportunities. They provide academic rewards/incentives, supplies, and services.
Partners are coordinated through Communities In Schools (CIS) of Richmond, Inc. Services cover a wide spectrum from behavior management to daily needs. We also have a Community Support Team (CST), which is comprised of representatives from the corporate, non-profit and faith community, as well as school representation. The CST works to support the school to support identified initiatives that target not only the school, but the surrounding community.
Communities In Schools of Richmond supports K-12 students in 39 Richmond City and Henrico County high-poverty neighborhood schools. Through early interventions and enrichment opportunities, CIS-R works with the community inside schools to help students succeed.
Ms. Mary Valenza is our Communities In Schools of Richmond (CIS-R) Site Coordinator, please contact her for volunteer and partner opportunities. She is available to support families with additional resources as needed. email Mrs. Valenza

We are fortunate to have many outstanding volunteers who offer their time and energy in our schools. If you are interested in volunteer opportunities at OGBES, please contact the school for more information at 780-5008.
We appreciate your support and any amount of time that you may be able to offer. The time and commitment you make to the students and staff is greatly appreciated. Because student safety is of great concern, all volunteers are required to complete an application and background check.
