Angela Burns-Boone - Literacy Coach
My name is Angela Burns-Boone. I have been in the field of education for twenty-two years. During that time, I have taught Pre-K, K, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades as well as served in the capacity of Reading Specialist. I am currently a Literacy Coach at OGBES. I became a tutor a couple of years ago and continue to do so. I have resided in Virginia by way of Mississippi for nine years. I have a ten-year-old daughter and have been married for four years. This union has given me three stepsons. My parents gave me a love for education, which I try to pass along to others, both young and old. I am a snake and turtle mom. During my free time, I love READING, spending time with family, watching movies, and going shopping.

Rebecca McCray - Reading Interventionist
After growing up in Richmond, I completed my undergraduate degree in Linguistics and Biopsychology at The College of William and Mary. I also studied at the University of Edinburgh, focusing on childhood bilingualism. I intended to become an SLP and work in schools. However, through what some might call fate, I applied to the School of Education at W&M and completed a 5th-year Masters in Elementary Education. After graduation, I taught 5th and 3rd grades for six years, during which I also completed another Master's Degree in Reading from the University of Virginia. Seeking a specialized role in reading, I became a reading interventionist at Oak Grove-Bellemeade, where I’ve spent the last three years. I've expanded my expertise by earning an ESL endorsement and completing Orton Gillingham Academy and IMSE training, both experiences started by the VDOE’s MSLI Program. Since then, I have also contributed to the district's UFLI Development team. Outside of work, I enjoy time with my family and dog. We explore our neighborhood and are knee-deep in projects in our house. Beyond that, I love to read - shocker! - travel, antique, listen to live music, and attempt gardening! These activities, with my job, fuel my need for continuous learning!

Keishada Brown - Reading Interventionist
I am originally from Richmond, VA and myself am a product of Richmond Public Schools. In 2011 I graduated from Ferrum College with a B.S in Criminal Justice minoring in Forensic Science. I later received a Masters of Teaching from The Norfolk State University. This is my ninth year in education, where I have taught Kindergarten and 3rd grade at Oak Grove Bellemeade Elementary. The love I have for reading and helping students to grow bought me out of the classroom and into the reading interventionist role . This is my second year serving as an interventionist and I am enjoying it very much. When I am not in the classroom I enjoy spending time and making memories with my two children Khenya (10) and Konnor (7). I am also an avid lover of books and trying new restaurants with my sisters.
